Pastor Tyler Gillit
Pastor, Worth Baptist Church
Pastor Tyler Gillit was called to be Worth’s Senior Pastor in January of 2016 after he served on staff for eight years. During that time, he served as the Youth Pastor and Associate Pastor, founded the WBC chapter of Reformers Unanimous, and developed our short-term missions program.
Pastor Gillit graduated with a Bachelor of Biblical Studies Degree from The Crown College in 2006 and a Master of Ministries Degree from Crown Seminary in 2007. He and Tori were married in 2006 and they have two children, Will and Anna. He is passionate about expository preaching and making disciples in Fort Worth and around the world.

I. A parable of contrast
-One careless (built on sand)
-The other hard-working (built on the rock)
II. Different fates
-The foundation of sand fell
-The foundation of rock stood strong
III. This parable gives assurance to those who are building their lives upon the Word of God.
IV. This parable sounds an alarm to those who hear the Word but do not obey it.
V. Characteristics of Doers of the Word:
1. They meditate on the Word (Josh. 1:8).
2. They are meek (James 1:21-25).
3. They are growing from glory to glory (2 Cor. 3:18).
4. They develop a discerning spirit (Heb. 5:12-14).
5. They obey the Lord because they truly love Him (John 14:15)
