The Problem: A divided kingdom and a disobedient people.

The Solution: The Prophets- Spokesmen who courageously called for repentance and restoration.

A. An Unfaithful Wife (1:1-11) 

B. An Unreasonable Husband   

1. He pleads with her (2:1-5).   

2. He provides for her (2:8).   

3. He punishes her (2:6-7, 9-13).   

4. He promises her (2:14-23).   

5. He purchases her (3:1-3).

2. The Significance 

A. We are the unfaithful wife.   

1. Intimacy demands exclusivity.   

2. Sin does not just break God’s law; it breaks His heart. 

B. Christ is the Unreasonable Husband:

 "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;" Ephesians 5:25   

1. He pleaded with us.   

2. He provided for us.   

3. He punished us.   

4. He promised us.   

5. He purchased us.
