Mike Herbster serves as Southland’s Director. He and his wife Amy Herbster both grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. They attended Bible College together and were married in 1996. Mike finished a MA in Pastoral Studies and also has a degree in music. Amy has a degree in music education. They have spent every summer since 1992 in camp ministry. During the fall and spring of the past 13 years, Mike was in full-time evangelism, traveling with his brother Mark in a ministry of preaching and music. God led them to Southland in the summer of 2003 where they led the music and assisted in program and administration.

In the fall of 2008 God led Mike to become the Director of Southland. He continued to travel with his family and lead the camp ministry mostly from the road. In 2014 God has led Mike and Amy to a full time position at Southland Christian Ministries. God has blessed them with 4 children, Micah, Malachi, Michala and Mckenna, who are a vital part of the ministry.

Rich Tozour grew up in southern New Jersey and trusted Christ as his Savior on February 12, 1977 (He was ten years old and had never heard the Gospel prior to that day.). It was Rich’s dad, Richard Tozour, Sr., who led Rich to Christ! Rich graduated from Gloucester County Christian School in 1985 and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies at Pensacola Christian College (Pensacola, Florida) in 1989. 

In August of 1993, Rich and Angela joined Eagle Heights Baptist Church in Kansas City. They taught at Eagle Heights Christian School for one year before being sent out by the church into full-time evangelism in June 1994.

Taylor Gillaspie was born and raised in Cleburne, TX. He was brought up in a Christian home and attended public school. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour when he was eight years old at his church. As a teenager, he began distancing himself from God, his parents and his church. At sixteen, he returned to the Lord and began to grow spiritually, serve at his church and witness at his public high school. A year later he was called to preach. Through Bible college and summer ministries God confirmed in his heart the specific call to full-time evangelism and revival work. Today he travels the country preaching the Bible in churches, Christian schools and camps. Taylor and his wife, Jessica, have been married for five years and are sent out of Gospel Light Baptist Church in Rogers, AR.

Bro. Will Berry, a graduate of Heartland Baptist Bible College, currently serves as the Youth Paster at Rochester Hills Baptist Church in Rochester Hills, Michigan.

Pastor Bob Wallace grew up in a Christian home in southern New Jersey. At 19 years old, he went forward at a evangelistic crusade to trust Christ as his Savior. After attending a local college to begin training to become a teacher, he felt God's call on his life to become a preacher and enrolled at Bob Jones University, where he received both his bachelors degree and Masters of Divinity. In 1964, he married Betty Richardson and moved to the Chicago suburbs to become the youth pastor at the Oak Forest Baptist Temple. Many of the teens who sat under the ministry of "Pastor Bob" have gone on to become pastors, missionaries, and serve in other full-time Christian ministries. After serving ten years as youth pastor, God directed Pastor Wallace to relocate his family to Dallas, Texas where he would become pastor of the Galilean Baptist Church. He spent over twenty years at Galilean and was instrumental in overseeing the church's move from Oak Cliff to the Dallas suburb of Cedar Hill. In June 1997, God brought Pastor and Betty Wallace to Regency Baptist Church. During the years they have been here, many souls have been saved, families have been reached, and believers have been strengthened in the faith. In May 2012, Pastor Wallace was honored by Crown College with an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree for faithful Christian service.

Dr. Don Woodard has served in the ministry for over thirty years. He has served as a pastor, evangelist and Christian counsellor. For fifteen years he traveled as an evangelist working extensively with teenagers. He has counseled thousands of people on various issues ranging in issues including emotional and sexual abuse. Woodard has served as a consultant to ministries that serve troubled young people and adults with addictions and behavior challenges.

Dr. Jonathan Stewart is the President of Norris Bible Baptist Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.

Dr. Mark Rasmussen is the Vice President of West Coast Baptist College in Lancaster, California.  Dr. Mark Rasmussen has been teaching on the college level for the past thirty years. He has spoken at Educators’ Conferences across our nation. Dr. Rasmussen was raised in a Pastor’s home where he was saved at the age of 5. He is a product of Christian education, having attended Christian school from the first grade through all three of his college degrees. Dr. Rasmussen is currently the Vice President of West Coast Baptist College in Lancaster, CA, where he and his wife Suza have been serving since 1997. He is the author of 101 Tips for Teaching and co-author of Mentoring and Modeling with Dr. John Goetsch. He and Suza also lead the Antelope Valley Bible Class every week at Lancaster Baptist Church. Dr. Rasmussen has given his life in full time ministry for the Lord Jesus Christ.

 

 

Pastor Emeritus of Worth Baptist Church

Dr. Raymond Barber has been in the Gospel ministry for more than sixty years. He pastored Worth Baptist Church, Fort Worth, Texas for thirty-five years and now serves as Pastor Emeritus. Additionally, Dr. Barber has taught Bible college classes, founded the Independent Baptist Fellowship International and the Norris Bible Baptist Institute. He served as President of the Independent Baptist Fellowship International and the Norris Bible Baptist Institute for twelve years.

Currently is President Emeritus of the IBFI, serves on the Executive Board of the IBFI, and is chancellor of Crown Southwest Norris Seminary. He is a member of the Executive Board of the Sword of the Lord Foundation and the Mt. Abarim Baptist Evangelistic Association.

He is the author of several books, booklets, and pamphlets, among which are: What the Bible Teaches, A Dozen Diamonds from Daniel, Family Portraits, Family Success, Profile of a Preacher, Golden Moments with God, Heaven's Hymnbook.

Barber continues to travel extensively throughout the nation preaching in revival meetings, Bible conferences, mission conferences, Bible colleges, fellowship meetings, and gatherings such as the national Sword of the Lord conference and the national meeting of the Independent Baptist Fellowship International.

Scott Pauley was raised in the mountains of West Virginia. At a young age he came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. As a twelve year old boy God called him to be a preacher. He attended The Crown College in Powell, Tennessee, and upon graduation served in the ministry of the Temple Baptist Church as Director of Student Ministries.

From 2004 to 2015 he served as Vice President of Crown College and an assistant to Pastor Clarence Sexton at the Temple Baptist Church. Dr. Pauley now travels full time in evangelism. His passion is to preach the gospel and he has a burden to influence this generation for Christ. United States Marine and Evangelist

To escape the world around him, he joined the Marine Corps in 1969. After his training, he received orders to serve in southeast Asia. In March of 1971, he was apprehended by the hand of God along an abandoned grassy trail in Quang Nam Province, Vietnam. In that moment, engulfed in smoke, fire and holy vengeance, a land mine explosion severed two lower limbs, and placed in a wheelchair for life a young man who was to carry, without legs, a message from God to a nation.

After his call to preach in 1973, and following a year of itinerant evangelistic preaching, Tim Lee pastored for five years in southern Illinois before surrendering to the full-time ministry of evangelism in 1979. The results in the lives of people was almost immediate as the former Marine began to stir and challenge God’s people across the country. People of all ages listened; among them teenagers, the professional person, United States Congressmen and Senators, Governors, Mayors and elected officials. They heard a clear, uncompromising message grounded deep in old fashioned patriotism, righteous living and biblical revival.

For over 40 years Dr. Farrell has been traveling nationally and internationally proclaiming the good news of the saving grace of Jesus Christ. On Monday evening, July 26, 2021, Dr. Tom Farrell stepped into the presence of his Lord, bringing an end to a life that touched countless.

Evangelist Burks is a Bible school graduate and has worked as an Assistant Pastor, Senior Pastor, and Staff Evangelist. He has been in ministry since 1984, and has watched through the years as family, friends, and acquaintances have had their lives wrecked because of the many addictions that Satan uses to destroy lives. He has seen the destruction up close and from afar, and grew tired of watching lives and families destroyed. God has given to him a burden and a tool to help people who are held captive by their addictions and stubborn habits. “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32)
