As amazing as the miracle of the transfiguration was (not to mention the numerous other miraculous events Christ did which are not recorded - John 21:25), Peter says, what believers have in a written format in the 27 books of the New Testament are in even a greater verification to the uniqueness of Christ's person, Why?
